What's New in FreeToastHost 4: A Guide for Officers

FreeToastHost has been the default free club website for more than twenty years, and FreeToastHost 4 is its biggest change in a long time. If your club has not moved yet, here is what is coming, what is new for officers, and what to check before your turn.

FreeToastHost in one paragraph

FreeToastHost started in January 2004 and serves more than 11,000 clubs. It is built and maintained by volunteers with the cooperation of Toastmasters International, and it is free for clubs listed on toastmasters.org. Beyond the public website, it gives clubs agendas with role sign-up, email, a member directory, mailing lists, a calendar, and dues tracking.

The FTH4 timeline so far

  • December 2025: The FreeToastHost team said its review of club suggestions laid the groundwork for FTH4.
  • August 2026: A beta with 108 clubs. FreeToastHost told other clubs to expect their option to migrate within one to six months.
  • Late October 2026: FreeToastHost ran FTH4 training sessions for club officers.
  • November 2026: The FreeToastHost directory listed 8,752 club sites on FTH4, with new sites added as clubs migrate from FTH3.

We have not found an official date for retiring FTH3, so plan around your own club's notice rather than a rumored deadline.

What's new for officers

  • Agenda Forecaster: plan roles for upcoming meetings ahead of time.
  • Automatic evaluator pairing: match evaluators to speakers without doing it by hand.
  • Pathways progress and report cards: see where members are on their paths.
  • Membership reports and dues tools: track who has paid.
  • A companion app for members and officers.

What carries over, and what doesn't

  • Your web address stays the same. Guests and search engines keep finding you.
  • Content, members, meeting history, and settings are meant to carry over.
  • Old admin passwords do not. FTH3 admin passwords do not work in FTH4, so make sure every officer can sign in after the move.
  • There is no going back. FreeToastHost describes migration as a one-way trip.
  • It is still being built out. FreeToastHost says so itself, so expect some screens to change.

Five things to do before your club's turn

  1. Make sure at least two officers know how to reach the FTH4 admin area and reset access.
  2. Export or copy your roster from Club Central so you have a copy you control.
  3. Write down the next four meetings' roles and speakers, in case agendas look different after the move.
  4. Watch the FreeToastHost support blog and forum for training sessions and wave announcements.
  5. Tell members in one short email that the site will look different, and who to ask if a role is wrong.

Our FTH4 migration checklist walks through cutover week in detail.

Where Toastmanagers fits

FreeToastHost is your public website, and FTH4 makes its officer tools stronger. Toastmanagers does not replace the website. Some clubs use it beside FreeToastHost for the weekly scheduling loop: automatic role reminders 7 days and 1 day before each meeting, schedules shaped by member preferences and absences, and one-click PDF agendas. If FTH4's agenda tools cover your needs, you may not need anything else.

Keep meetings steady during the move

Run the next few meetings' roles and reminders in Toastmanagers while your website migrates.
