We build a competing tool, so take this with that in mind. But clubs ask us whether they should leave Easy-Speak, and the honest answer is often no. Here is what it does well and the signs your club should stay.
1. It already automates the first draft of the schedule
Easy-Speak allocates roles automatically, using each member's experience and the roles they have done recently. Officers start from a reasonable draft instead of a blank grid, and a role history view helps them adjust it.
2. It keeps a speech queue
Members can ask to speak, and Easy-Speak keeps those requests in a queue. That beats speech requests scattered across texts and hallway conversations.
3. It looks after new members
Mentor emails and member charts help officers see who is progressing and who needs a nudge. Polls give the club a quick way to ask members what they want.
4. It works above the club level
This is its biggest advantage. Easy-Speak supports officer training administration for areas, divisions, and districts, and it can produce the officer list and annual return for Toastmasters International in one click. If your district already uses it, area and division officers can see your club in the same system.
5. It is international
Easy-Speak is multi-club, multi-language, and multi-timezone. That is part of why it is common in European districts, where one member may belong to clubs that meet in different languages.
6. It is free, and it is not going anywhere soon
Easy-Speak costs clubs nothing. Since its founder stepped back in October 2025, the volunteer easySPEAK Association has run it, and it shipped a free iOS app, easySPEAK Mobile, in July 2026. A volunteer team taking over twenty-year-old software has real work ahead, but the project is active.
Stay on Easy-Speak if...
- Your area, division, or district runs on it
- Members belong to several clubs that all use it
- You rely on its speech queue, mentor emails, or member charts
- Your club meets in more than one language
- Your officers know it well and meetings run smoothly
Consider something else if...
- Officers spend hours each week reminding people about roles by hand
- Members' role preferences and absences live in someone's head, not in the tool
- You need a print-ready PDF agenda and speaker introductions for every meeting
- New officers struggle to learn the interface
If those sound familiar, run a test club in Toastmanagers for one cycle beside Easy-Speak. Both are free, so the only cost is an evening of setup. Our full comparison lists the differences.
