Short answer: yes. Easy-Speak does not charge clubs anything. Officers still search "Easy-Speak cost" because some comparison pages, including an older version of ours, wrongly listed a yearly price. Here is what is actually true in 2026.
How Easy-Speak is funded
Easy-Speak's own overview describes it as a gift to Toastmasters: clubs can use it without cost. District sites that run the same software describe it as a free service financed by Toastmasters members. We found no price list, subscription tier, or per-member fee anywhere in its documentation.
So if you are budgeting, Easy-Speak is a $0 line item. If your club wants to support it, look for the donation or volunteer options on its site.
Who built it
Malcolm Warden launched Easy-Speak in January 2005 and ran it for two decades. By April 2025 it served more than 1,800 clubs and 43,000 members, according to his letter to district leaders that month.
Who runs it now
In that April 2025 letter, Warden said he would step away from October 2025 and that volunteer teams were being formed to take over administration, technical work, and support. Easy-Speak sites now credit the easySPEAK Association, which lists Zurich as its home.
The same letter was candid about the work ahead: hosting needed stabilizing and legacy systems needed modernizing. That is normal for software that has run for twenty years, and it is worth knowing if your club depends on it every week.

What this means for your club
Price is not a reason to leave Easy-Speak, and it is not a reason to join it either, because the common alternatives are free too. FreeToastHost is free for clubs listed on toastmasters.org, and Toastmanagers is free for core club operations. Choose on workflow:
- If your district runs on Easy-Speak, staying keeps you aligned with area and division officers.
- If you mainly need a public website, FreeToastHost is built for that.
- If your officers lose their week to reminders and role juggling, compare how each tool handles that.
